Details:
This is what Marilyn Saunders, who is one of three people in
the "Accounting" workgroup, would see at her desk. Notice that
each user's status is shown both as an icon, and in text. After
using StatusView for just a short time, you'll find you can
literally "see" what your coworkers are doing!
Note the following:
- The current date and time appears in the title bar.
- Marilyn has chosen to view only her own workgroup. She can
choose any workgroup, or can view all workgroups together.
In all cases, names are always displayed in alphabetical order.
- Marilyn's name appears above her "dedicated" toolbar buttons
at the top-left of the display. Her dedicated buttons show
that she has 7 messages, and is at a "do-not-disturb" status.
These toolbar buttons are called "dedicated" because they will
always be visible on Marilyn's display, even if she selects a
different workgroup to view. Clicking on these buttons opens
the Message Box or the
Status Change dialog.
- Additional information for Marilyn appears in the main display
area (she doesn't want to be disturbed until 11:16 am, and she
has a personal comment).
- Marilyn's personal comment is too long to be displayed in full.
However, a mouse-click on the comment will show the entire
comment (this does not work in the demo, however!).
- The status of Marilyn's coworkers in the Accounting workgroup
are also shown on the main display; Susan Alton is in a meeting
until 11:10 am, and James Robertson is out until tomorrow at
8:30 am. You can also see that Susan Alton has one message.
- A system-wide message is visible at the top-right of the display.
