Details:
The Notification Action user preferences allow you to control how
StatusView will actively keep you informed of status changes and
new messages, including:
- If and how to be notified when someone's status changes:
- Choose No notification if you don't need to
know when your coworkers check in and out.
- Choose Beep once only if you don't wish to be
interrupted, but would like an unobtrusive notification.
- Choose Beep and flash until acknowledged if you
don't want to be interrupted, but do want StatusView to be
persistent in notifying you of changes. StatusView will wait
for you to restore it from the minimized state, to view the
changes when you are ready.
- Choose Auto-Popup and beep once only, or beep until
acknowledged if you want StatusView to notify you of
status changes by restoring itself automatically, appearing
in front of any other application you are using.
- Select additional notification options:
- Normally, popup notification will bring the
In/Out Board up with changes
highlighted. You may prefer to have the
Activity List popup instead.
- After StatusView pops up and you have viewed any changes,
you click your mouse or press a keystroke to acknowledge that
you have seen the changes. If you enable Auto-minimize
on acknowledge, StatusView will minimize itself when
you acknowledge, allowing you to return to your work with
fewer clicks and keystrokes.
- You can choose to monitor status changes of all users, or
only those in your own workgroup.
- You can choose your preferred style of new message notification.
Note, however, that message notification cannot be disabled
completely (see the user Status
Preferences for an exception). This is done to insure that
all messages will be delivered immediately, or, if the intended
recipient is unavailable, whenever they next become available.
- Specify Refresh and Snooze Intervals:
- The Refresh Interval controls how often StatusView
checks for status changes and new messages.
- The Snooze setting is used whenever you respond to
a new message or status change notification by selecting the
snooze command. Doing so causes StatusView to minimize, and
wait for the specified time before attempting to notify you
again.
