Details:

The user Status Preferences dialog allows you to specify any regular habits you have, which can simplify the process of changing your status. You can also control when StatusView will honor your Notification Action preferences, and when StatusView will not disturb you with notifications.

Auto-QuickSet

You configure an Auto-QuickSet for any status where you have regular habits. For example, if you usually go to lunch for one hour, you would specify an Auto-QuickSet time of "In 1 hour" for the status "Out To Lunch". Then, you can check out for lunch with a simple mouse click on the main In/Out Board display. For more information on changing your status, see the Status Change dialog, which also covers how to use Auto-QuickSets.

Notify Me

Normally, StatusView assumes that you are available whenever your status is set to "In". Therefore, when your status is "In", StatusView will issue new message and status change notifications to you, according to how you have set your Notification Action preferences.

When your status is not "In". StatusView assumes that you are not available, and does not attempt to notify you, though your your In/Out Board display will continue to update automatically. However, you may prefer to be notified when you are at other statuses.

In the example shown above, Marilyn has configured StatusView to issue notifications when she is at either an "In" status, or a "Meeting" status. This would allow her to be notified of new messages when she is at a "Meeting" status, for example. However, if she changes her status to "Do Not Disturb", StatusView would not issue any active notifications until she once again returned to a "Meeting" or "In" status.
