Here are just some of the features that make StatusView both easy and fun to use:
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| In/Out Board | The main display shows you who's in, who's not, and when they'll be back, all at a glance. You can also see who has messages, and how many. |
| Workgroups | Larger organizations can assign StatusView users to separate workgroups. The in/out board will then let you view individual workgroups. You can also view all workgroups together, if you prefer. |
| Integrated Messaging | There's no need for separate email or electronic postoffices with StatusView. Whether you want to send a message to a co-worker, or you're taking a call for someone who's out of the office, the integrated messaging features of StatusView deliver the message in moments. |
| System Message with Notification | With StatusView running on your network, you can post a message for all users to see, prominently displayed at all times on StatusView's in/out board display. If you specify "Notify All Users", StatusView will popup automatically to deliver the System Message immediately, even if a user is currently working in another application. |
| Status Icons | Use the built in icons or choose your own (registered version only) to represent user status graphically. Don't just read who's in and who's out, see where they are! |
| QuickSet | When you check out for lunch, go into a meeting, or leave the office for the day, you'll want to let your associates know when you'll next be available. StatusView's QuickSet feature saves you time with choices like "in 1 hour", or "next workday". Of course, you can always enter a specific return date and time if you prefer. |
| Auto-QuickSet | Most of us have certain habits: Bill goes on break for 15 minutes, Cindy takes 45 minutes for lunch; the office opens at 8am every Monday through Friday. With StatusView's Auto-QuickSet feature, users can enter their personal habits. Then, when Bill takes a break, Cindy goes to lunch, or anyone goes home for the day, StatusView fills in the appropriate return time, automatically. |
| Message Notification | When a co-worker sends you a message, StatusView notifies you right away if you're available. If you're out, any new messages are brought to your attention as soon as you sign back in. You don't have to check for new messages - it's automatic! |
| Status Notification | User preferences allow you to specify whether or not you want to be notified when your co-workers check in or out. You can "monitor" all users, or just those who are in your own workgroup. |
| Auto-Popup | Receptionists and managers love this feature! If you specify Auto-Popup notification, StatusView will popup automatically whenever someone's status changes, even if you're working in another application. Then, with a single keystroke, it automatically disappears, putting you right back in the application you were working in. You stay productive and informed at the same time. And StatusView makes it so easy! |
| Office-oriented message system design | StatusView is designed to replace all those sticky notes. Non-confidential messages can be accessed by your coworkers, so they can help you out by handling your messages when you are absent. Messages can also be edited, which often alleviates the need to send a second message when you realize you forgot to include a phone number, or other important information. |
| Security | Registered versions of StatusView provide security features for users, receptionists and administrators. For example, only receptionists and administrators can change someone else's status. Messages can be identified as confidential, which prevents access for everyone except the sender, the receiver, and an administrator. |
| Printing | Registered versions of StatusView allow messages to be printed to any Windows printer. |
| Multimedia | User preferences allow you to request audible notifications when you receive new messages or when your coworker's check in and out of the office. On a multimedia-capable PC, you can choose your own WAV file sounds. You can even specify different sounds for status changes and messages! PC's without sound capabilities will notify you using the beep of your PC speaker. |
| Customization | Registered versions of StatusView allow administrators to add, edit or delete status choices (such as "out to lunch", "sales meeting", etc.) to suit your organization's needs. An administrator can also choose different status icons to associate with each in/out status. |
| Advanced Administration Features | StatusView includes scheduled and manual database optimization and repair features to keep the StatusView database in tip-top condition. StatusView's automatic update technology allows an administrator to apply software updates, or even install a completely new version of StatusView on all networked workstations, without leaving their desk! |
